Ricky Testa

Ricky Testa is the founder/CEO of the Texas Rockies Baseball Organization and co-owner of the premier indoor baseball training facility Redd's Dugout, located in Dallas, Texas.

The 2005 graduate of Mesquite Poteet High School played four years under the helm of head coach Ted Nowell, leading the Pirates to four consecutive playoff appearances and two regional final games. During his four year tenure at PHS, Testa was named the District 12-4A All-District Defensive MVP as a sophomore and earned back-to-back First Team All-District Pitcher selections following his junior and senior campaigns, while also breaking many of the schools baseball records throughout his illustrious career in a Pirate uniform. Once regarded as a highly touted prospect in the DFW area as both a pitcher and third baseman coming out of high school, Ricky received scholarship offers from some of the top schools in Texas, eventually deciding to accept an offer to pitch at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. Ricky led the Highlanders to a conference championship in his freshman season and was later selected to represent MCC in the Region V Junior College All-Star Game. Following his two seasons at McLennan, Ricky transferred to Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas to play under the tutelage of legendary coach Jim Gilligan. As a Cardinal, Testa led Lamar to two conference tournament appearances and racked up five awards throughout his junior and senior seasons, including being named the Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week after a 14 strikeout performance out of the bullpen on April 5 against the Corpus Christi Islanders.

Following his senior season at Lamar University, Coach Testa graduated with a bachelors degree in Business Management and was selected in the 18th round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies.
